I came home from daycare today and the house was all clean. I'm not used to that much clean, so I promptly had to reinstitute my messiness. Ahhh, now I feel better.

Still a baby
Mamma, Daddy, I'm still a baby, and I like being a baby. I like facing backwards in my stroller. It's nice and bundly-warm, and I have my toys. If I face forwards, I don't see you, and I drop my toys. Not fun. And I like bathing in the sink. I do not want to bathe in the big-kids tub. In fact, if you try, I will scream until my face turns red. Like tonight. And last night. And if you try again, tomorrow.

Pride
It was pretty easy to figure out how to get from sitting to lying. I just flopped myself down. But it is with great pride that I announce that I've figured out how to get myself from lying down to sitting. First, I have to flip myself onto my belly. Then up on my forearms. Then push myself back with one leg out. Then bring the other leg around (sometimes I do the splits). And then poof. I fart. Oh, and I'm sitting up! Woohoo!

Look I'm Jack Palance
I like to be on my tummy. I also like to be sitting up. The problem is going from one position to the other. I heard somewhere that babies should be getting 20 minutes of vigorous strength training per day. Or maybe it was 20 seconds a day. Or maybe none at all. Whatever it was, I think we can all agree that I have no short-term memory. I really like peas! In conclusion OOH DADDY'S WATCH

Laundry
I'm keeping busy these days discovering new things. So much so that I've forgotten to spit up as much as I used to. I used to have Mamma doing my laundry every other day. But now I'm slipping. She got away with doing my laundry only once last week. I think tonight I'll barf all over her, the floor, her pants, Daddy, and me. Oh, that's right, I already did that.

7 months!
I do not want to go to sleep tonight. I'm only 7 months once, and I don't want to waste a second of it sleeping. Being 6 months old went by too quickly, but I had a lot to show for it. I got to try lots of solid foods. Again, I prefer the veggies to the fruits. My favorites being sweet potato (my first food) and squash (my last food). Mamma and Daddy say I'm suffering from primacy and recency effects. I'm sitting up, I'm sleeping in my own bed for part of the night (but then I get lonely and want to cuddle), and I'm speaking some English (mostly Daddy's name). I'm loving being able to move myself around on the floor - rolling and scooting backwards. It's great to have control over what I have to look at or play with. There's some great stuff under the sofa I've been meaning to play with.

Colorful language
Mamma and Daddy used to use such funny words. But I guess they weren't happy with that, and started a "swear jar" to make them stop. I liked those words and was just starting to learn how to say "da-da-d*mn". So I'm very happy to announce that by getting up on my hands and knees, and rocking back and forth, I can get Mamma and Daddy to use their colorful words again and say "oh sh*t" a whole bunch. Yay!

OSU vs UW
I was born in Madison. Mamma and Daddy work at UW. By nature I'm a Badger. But Mamma and Daddy insist on converting me to cheer for OSU. By nurture I'm a Buckeye. The two teams played each other today and Mamma and Daddy took me out dressed as a Buckeye in Badger country. Good thing the colors are similar! O-H!
