Homemade ultrasound

Where's Brother? He's in Mamma's belly. Sometimes he's in my belly. And sometimes he's even in Daddy's belly. But the doctors have only looked at Brother in Mamma's belly. So I took matters into my own hands. The gooey gel goes on the belly, and then poof - pictures of Brother. Bummer I haven't yet figured out how to turn on the TV to actually see the pictures I took of Brother.

Scottish Heritage

We decided to go out to dinner tonight! Mamma and Daddy decided to try a new place that we had never been or ever even heard of or ever looked up on the internet or talked to anyone about called The Tilted Kilt, since it sounded like Daddy would fit right in. The first thing I noticed was how warm it was in there! Or at least, how warm the waitstaff must have thought it was. Most of them were wearing hardly any clothing! I didn't think it was that warm in there but they must have all been working super hard, even though it didn't look like that at all! Anyway this is my impersonation of Daddy when we walked in. He didn't stay like that though; in fact I wonder if Daddy is getting sick, since he turned very bright red during dinner. Maybe he thought it was hot in there too. Anyway I think neck pain must be another symptom because he spent the whole dinner not turning his head to the side and just looking straight ahead at Mamma and me or at the table. Poor Daddy! Also their Shepherd's Pie looked like something a doggie would either eat or leave behind after eating. Poor Doggie!

New car?

Please, oh please Mamma and Daddy, can you buy me this car? It's got lots of cargo space, great head and leg room, and comes with a lot of groceries. Sure it's a bit drafty and handles terribly around corners. But it's so big everyone moves out of my way.

Balloons

I love balloons. But it seems that balloons don't always love me as they keep flying away from me.
Thankfully I discovered that if I glue my hair to the balloon it stays closer.

Pronouns & Plurals

English is a weird language to learn. Especially when this is the reading material I have to learn from. But I'm getting the hang of plurals (2 bibs) and telling Mamma and Daddy that I'm busy and "I read".

Bubbles

A good friend of mine has had his bubble-soap and wand taken away from him. I'm here to tell him there's more than one way to make bubbles. We shall not be stopped from having bubbles!

Sleep

I love my sleep. I'm very regular. I want to go to bed at 7pm, and I'll wake up at 7am. So tonight, when Mamma and Daddy suggesting going out to see people for dinner... I was a little leary. But I'll accept bribes of balloons, brownies, chocolate milk, cute boys and fun cars, in order for them to stay out late. That's right. I let them get me to bed by 7:20pm. What a late night!

What a porker!

The doctors keep looking at my brother to make sure he's growing properly. And they want to look at him again in 4 weeks. Now, I'm not a doctor. I'm not yet even 2 years old. But I do think that since he's already 2lbs 12ounces and measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule, that they should be focusing less of their attention on him and more on the wonderful girl below.

I can't believe it's not butter

Bread is just a tool for eating margarine. And if you wonder why I'm wearing two bibs - it's because I refuse to wear one. You can understand the logic, right?

NeeNee

I hope NeeNee has fun on her vacation to Pennsylvania. She'll need the 3 months rest because when she's back from vacation, there'll be even more laundry to do here, even more diapers to change, and even more hugs and kisses and snuggles to be given. Rest up NeeNee - have fun - I miss you.

Big news day

Mmhmmm. Big news day you say? Inauguration? Am I hearing this correctly? You want me to put down my book to watch TV? Mmmhhmm.

Food preferences

I LOVE lentils. Daddy made them for dinner and I couldn't gobble them down fast enough. Mamma and Daddy were impressed because I guess that wasn't the reaction they were expecting. But then again, I also love to eat my toe lint.

10 years!

Mamma and Daddy have been together a looong time. Since before the earth was created. Bill Clinton was president, gas cost under $1/gallon, and Canada had only 2 territories. The iBook, iPhone and iPod were all figments of Daddy's iMagination. To help them celebrate, I gave them both pressies: a poopie diaper each!

Center of attention

Well, I am the center of my universe. But that doesn't excuse me not remembering to share that my favorite NeeNee has been visiting for the last week. She's here for 2 WEEKS. I'll blame her for my absentmindedness because she also hides from my camera. Or is that Mamma's fault?

Potty

I talk about my poo poos. I sit on the potty. I sit on the potty with no clothes on when I feel it's warm enough. And today, I grabbed a diaper from my room and wiped my wee wee and bum and face and belly and hair with the diaper while sitting on the potty (fully clothed). Mamma and Daddy can think I'm making huge potty strides. But I know I'm just fooling with them.

Love of the arts

I enjoy drawing, but getting in the corners is hard work.

My real passion is singing songs. Until now, I've relied mostly on Mamma and Daddy singing (and if you've heard Mamma sing, I'm sorry). Today I composed my first original song about body parts and names and la-la-las, and sang it for Mamma and Daddy and NeeNee. I love singing. Even more than singing, I love the applause!

Who me?

I don't know who you're talking about. It was another baby that yarfed on the table, and most definitely another baby that peed on the carpet. Cus it wasn't me. But that's what you get for letting her run around the house naked on a blizzardly cold day!

Like my Morbror, I'm tagging my stuff (ie. putting stickers on my diaper pail).

Resolutions

So yeah. I've got a long way if I'm going to follow the family tradition of having big feet.

Names

I just found out that Daddy has another name. Does everyone have two names?

21 months!

Because it's my mirthday, I woke up extra smart, mature, and knowing a whole bunch of new words. I recognized Obama on TV. I saw numbers and kept on counting. I learned the word 'apricot' in my sleep. I named the letters on Daddy's shirt (although Mamma and Daddy claim I didn't get them right - whatever). I recognized and named my daycarelady's house when I got there. What a difference one day makes! Or maybe it was just getting a good night's sleep.

Girls just wanna have fu-un

Today was great! I kicked my poopie diaper off the changing table, I pulled an opened can of peas out of the fridge (spilling it on the fridge and floor), I smacked around my Daddy, I yinged if Daddy wanted me to yang, I dropped the clock behind the bed, and I generally did whatever I was asked not to do. I'm my own person, and I have my own ideas for having fun.

Football

Mamma and Daddy said they were watching a bowl game tonight. I don't quite understand how Ohio and Texas fit into this whole thing.

Road trip update

How was my roadtrip? I was kind to Mamma and Daddy on the 7 hour drive the first day. But after that, I was way too excited to let them sleep any night (so I didn't). I met some fine boys. One was a music-phile after my own heart, and the other smothered me with kisses. There were soooo many music toys and trucks and kitchens and dolls and books and kids to play with and awesome Keepers of Nina, that I did NOT want to leave. Which I kindly let Mamma and Daddy know about frequently on the 10.5 hour drive home.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I resolve to follow some family traditions:
Of Daddy being in the kitchen.
Status: Complete.
Of Mamma taking her duvets with her when she travels by car.
Status: Complete.

Now what am I going to do the rest of the year?
