10!

Lauren turned 10 and we helped her celebrate. We played dolls and spy games (sneaking up on the boys), while they did Lego and videogames. And the parents napped. A lot. I guess turning 10 means your parents are old!

A first

With 90' days and no AC at school, I need to wear my hair up. Mamma finally learned some new hairstyles. But really, 39 and only now figuring out how to do a French braid?! Anyways, if may look pretty, but it is not cool on a hot day. 

First day (well yesterday)

My first real official day of Kindergarten. I love seeing my big sister during the day and in the halls and after school. 

Not fun

Two hour nose bleed. 

Last day

No more Bearcat room. I said goodbye on Friday to my trachers. I'd already said goodbye to most of my friends whose school started earlier than mine. 

Will I miss DaBranda, Lauren or Cassie (my teachers)? Maybe. But I cried over missing the tire swing!!

Kindergarten day 2

Well, class hasn't started yet. But I got to practice again with half of the kids. And we watched a video as recess. And had yummy lunch. 

Sure I went on yellow for not keeping my hands to myself, but there's so much to check out - including other kids!

Big day

My first day of second grade! And it was awesome. And then my soccer team started practice again. And then we went out for Mamma and Daddy's anniversary. Why didn't they tell me it was their anniversary?!

Last week

Was my last week of summer camp. And we had a talent show!! Violins and dancing and singing. And we sang Let It Go, from the Frozen movie. Because of course we did. 

Preschool

So before second grade, I get to back to preschool for two days. Reading to little kids is fun. But using little kid toilets with no privacy? Weird.

Readiness camp

My first day of Kindergarten Camp. I'm excited. I'm nervous. I'm scared. I'm confident. How can I be all these things? 

Today is a half day, and I've laughed, I've cried, and I've been pulled off Daddy's leg. 

In the Bearcats they see me as confident, and the one that leads the group (thus why I'm the bus driver). But I'm scared. Will I make friends? I only know one other boy, and will he be in my class? So much uncertainty. 

While Mamma is away

I had play date with my bestie. Which turned into a spontaneous sleepover. So much fun and ice cream. Daddy and Ewan hugged and snuggled cus they missed their girls.

Get ready for school

So my neighborhood had a party to "get ready to go back to school". And they're really nice. They had bounce houses and games and face paint and balloons and magicians and food. And they gave us a backpack with school supplies. And I'm okay with going back to school. But school isn't about bounce houses and games and face paint... So I'm unclear his those things get us ready to go back. 

My favorite part was seeing a bunch of classmates I hadn't seen much this summer.

How long does it take to inhale a slice of carrot cake? Less time if my brother didn't keep elbowing me away from the cake!

Lego family

Mamma has been gone so much (2 weeks gone, home for 6 days and then gone again), that I've resorted to making my own extended family. 

Personalized crayons!

I named mine "crayon". Daddy made me one too. Nina used fancy words, and Daddy made her one too. Nina thinks we actually MADE the crayon. I know we just named them.
