Shopping after visitors

I love visitors as they're great for teaching Mamma and Daddy to spend more money on me. To go with my big-girl undies, I now have a big girl nightie with my beloved Princesses on it. Thanks Bronwyn! Next time, bring a driver's license, car and outdoor pool ;)

Big day

No more pull-ups!
(except for naptime and bedtime).
I'm a big girl!

Big day

I've been mastering my skill at daycare, and today showed Mamma and Daddy how excellent I am at eating with a fork and spoon. Slow, controlled. And hungry five minutes later as I'm still hungry!

PlayStation controller

I'm not supposed to touch this. But I really really want to.
Oooh, I'm touching it.
Oh, I've got it!
I'm running with this before someone takes it away from me!

Doctor

MrsDrLady says I'm perfect. Of course! With one more molar and 3 not so fun shots.

Dreaming big

At daycare they taught us all about the zoo. And we drew pictures of the zoo. Some people drew pictures of the Cincinnati zoo or a petting zoo. I drew pictures of Nina's zoo.

Communication

But the most effective form of communication with Mamma and Daddy is still pantomime or just plain showing them what I want.

I want a bath: Crawl up the stairs, walk to the bathroom, begin to crawl into the tub.
I want to go to sleep: Rub eyes, walk to your room, point to my crib.
I'm hungry: Walk to booster seat, pull out chair from table, cry and grunt. OR Walk to kitchen counter, point to bananas.
I want to go outside: Walk to front door, bang on door.

Vocabulary explosion

M: Are you all done?
e: Yup.

M: And kitties say meow meow.
e: yeow yeow.

When I say help and up, they sound the same. So I try to use them in context to help Mamma and Daddy understand me.

Parade!

Last year I was scared of the clowns. This year I loved them! And it's like Hallowe'en in July. I came home with a bag full of candy, which I carefully shared with the cute redhead beside me.

Bedtime

It's hard when your house is full of 9 extra fun people and then they all leave. I had a hard time going to sleep because I liked having a roommate and another bed to jump "bed-to-bed". So last night, I quietly left my room and fell asleep on Mamma and Daddy's bed. It made me feel better. I just don't understand how I woke up in my own bed. I guess I must have sleepwalked.

:(

All my friends left today. And I miss them. It's past my bedtime, but I keep creeping down to the front door to see if they're coming back.

9:10pm

n: It is waaay past my bedtime.

BFF

I have some new best friends forever. Bronwyn and Leah and I are three peas in a pod. We love to eat popsicles and ice cream cones together. While smiling. I'm glad Ewan has Reily to buddy up with.

Ten

That's how many teeth I have. Top left and bottom right molars.

Zoo!

Polar bears and ice cream and old ladies (Mamma's college friends) and Daddies. Yay! But only the polar bears live at the zoo.

Playmates

All of a sudden there are a lot of females at my house. Fortunately there is another 1 year old boy to play with. We had great fun pouring water on our own heads, and then going to the sand table to cover ourselves in sand.

Really?

Mamma and Daddy have friends? All of a sudden there are 6 extra adults and 3 other kids around. This is fun! I guess Mamma went to school with the ladies. Which is silly. Because Mamma is too old to have gone to school.

(oh, and yesterday's blog was about me, not my brother).

Diaper free!

For 11 hours! And then I celebrated by urinating on the living room floor! I'm so proud of myself! One more step towards independence.

Bye-bye NeeNee

Thanks for coming to visit NeeNee! Sorry I found you so boring I fell asleep on you.

Doors

I'm pretty close to opening doors around the house. If Mamma and Daddy think locks will keep me out - think again! I've got key(chain)s!

Hand-me-downs

n: Mamma showed me this new skirt yesterday. And I just love it!

15 months!

I appreciate that Mamma took me to Oregon with her. But I am not loving adjusting to my own time zone! Bedtime and waking up and napping is messing me up.

I'm a machine. I love new words and books. Reading in bed, during diaper changes, all day, at bedtime. I prefer books about babies and animals. My favorite is any animal that goes 'rowr' (which includes bears, lions and tigers). Silly Mamma and Daddy, cows don't roar. My favorite word is 'uh-oh'. Sometimes I don't use words. I let Mamma and Daddy know I want to go outside by bringing them my shoes and then bringing them their shoes. I let them know I'm hungry by moving my chair out from the table.

I love food. Lots and more of it. Cottage cheese is still my favorite. With blueberries. Mmm... I store all the food in my cheeks, and usually save a bit for later in there too.

I'm good at understanding what people are saying. 'No' is the funniest word ever. Especially the part when I laugh and don't listen. I will listen if I'm told to 'stop'. But as I'm very literal, when I'm told 'no', I'm expecting an explanation for why I can't do whatever it is I'm doing (touching the television, pulling Nina's hair, playing with the stove, etc).

Hacked

Mamma left us. To go to Disney World in Orlando. Without us.
Her email was hacked while she was gone.
I'm not saying it's karma. But....

Flight delays

Weather delayed our flight home. I was an angel again (because they fly too), but am very very tired after our flight landing at 2am and getting home at 3am.

(my second cousin Eva, and her other second cousin Jade in the background. How I look in this picture is how Mamma feels after having to go to work a couple hours after we got back.)

Wedding

My first wedding. Barefoot (because my shoes were wet from playing in the river). Clinging to Mamma because she left me in a weird place to go rafting and I wasn't having her move 2 feet from my side ever again. And loving the music and food. I want to go to more of these parties.

McKenzie River

How awesome! We stayed in cabins right on a river named after me! I didn't have the heart to tell the river it had it's name misspelled.

Skills

Morfar tried to teach me how to play horseshoes. I taught him how to play croquet. Silly man was using me as the hoop!

Oregon

My first trip to the other side of the country. I was an angel the entire trip, and adjusted no problem to Pacific time. I stayed up 3.5 hours past my regular bedtime. With a view like this and a drink my Daddy would love, it was pretty easy to stay entertained.

Cole's party

It was great to see Cole and play with his new toys and his swing and eat his cake. But I'm sad that my buddy Luke slept through the whole thing. Cole must have 'stupefied' him.

Last names

D: What's Mamma's last name?
n: Espestesbestentesten-spitup.

Shoes

Ewan and I both love shoes. So much we fight over who gets to wear them. Good thing I'm bigger and faster (at least for now).

Birth announcement!

n: I'm going to have a little doggy.
D: Oh really?
n: Yes. But no more babies, ok?

Words

I am a skilled communicator. I cry hysterically when I think I am not getting food the second I want it. I mean histrionically.

But I also devour words... I want everything named so I can repeat them (lights = ights, baby = bah-be). I have more words, but Mamma and Daddy don't understand them yet. Especially as it's hard to get a word in in this family. Thus, see my crying hysterically as above.

And I love reading books. By myself. My attention span when someone else is reading is short as I'd rather be reading it myself.

Hairdresser?

Pure coincidence

I POOPED IN THE TOILET!

No photo evidence of the grand event. Me in my underwear is more modest.

Potty update

"Completely under control."

I can now take off my own Pull-Up, wipe myself with baby-wipes, and put on a clean Pull-Up. All by myself.

I can pull down my shorts/skirt & Pull-Up, sit on the toilet, wipe, flush and pull up my shorts/skirt. All by myself.

I do timed-toileting at preschool and spend a lot of time in the bathroom at preschool. And there, I'm improving at actually putting my pee/poo in the toilet.

And because I love to drive my psychology/behaviorist parents completely mad, I refuse to put my pee/poo in the toilet at home. Haven't yet, not even once. It's a battle of wills at this point!

Parky's Farm

Silly IKEA wants me to be toilet trained before I can enjoy a ball pit. But not Parky's!
My first saddle ride!
My other Morfar was a sailor too.
Back to the ball pit!
Farm life is the life for me.
