I try to get Mamma to play hide and seek at the grocery. She's not a fan.

n: Sometimes Grace follows me around.

M: Sometimes you follow Lauren around.

n: But she's my best friend.

n: Pink and blue.

What's subtraction?

The ice cream truck came to school today! I only had $5. And the ice cream I wanted was $3.

n: I didn't have enough money for my ice cream. But the nice lady in the truck lent me $2 and gave me my ice cream.

Logic

(After a long discussion about the kids going to a friend's house for pizza while the parents go out for dinner. Where Ewan wants the family to stay together)

M: But Mamma and Daddy are going to a restaurant that doesn't have good kid food. There's no pizza or chicken or hotdogs.
e: But you could go somewhere else!

Changes

 

So many kids changes schools. And the two Kindergarten classes turned into three first grade classes. So unless I'm at recess I only have two kids from my old classroom. But that's okay. I know lots of kids from recess and soccer.

I had a great first day.

So happy to be back at school running away from the boys!

First Day Minus One

School starts tomorrow. So today I got to see my classroom and meet my new teacher, Mrs Brzygot. My friend from the Y had her last year, so I'm excited. And she gave me a present because she's excited for first grade too.

And I won tickets to a Reds game! I got to parade around the diamond and get on the jumbotron. The seats above the red square are where I lasted 3 inning (you can see Stephanna, Nina and Daddy if you squint). Too much cotton candy and I was done.

The library has prizes for summer reading. And I won the grand prize! My own Galaxy tablet. 

Weather

Some days it was so humid that all cameras fogged up as soon as they came outside. But it wasn't too hot to have fun outside. 

Loose tooth

On the last day of vacation, I was eating an apple. And my tooth was loose! And I cried and cried because I didn't understand what was happening. And what if I ate the tooth? And what if the tooth fairy didn't know I was on vacation? And what if I forget to put the tooth under my pillow? And will it hurt? 

After Mamma and Daddy answered my questions I was still upset and scared. Then I woke up and Lauren told me everything was going to be okay. So now I'm excited about my loose tooth. I can't wait for it to come out. It still wiggles and I can feel the tooth coming in already. Bottom right. I'm a big girl now.

Wilmington Children's Museum

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love that other cities have children's museums. I wish they made adult's museums too. Mamma and Daddy and Patrick and Beth seemed to have a good time just sitting down while we (Lauren, Trevor, Ewan and I) played.

Sunglass safety

Mamma and Daddy did a good job teaching us about ocean safety. Two hands on the body board. Stay close. When the waves take us too far from our tent, get out of the water and come back closer. They didn't do a good job following their own safety rules. They both wore their sunglasses in the water and so the ocean borrowed them.

Oak Island Vacation

 

 

 

 

 

I liked staying up late, and playing with Lauren and Trevor, and swimming in the ocean. When the waves were calm, I would go all the way up to my neck and jump when the waves came. It was awesome! And I had stand-up showers to clean off the salt and sand. I got to eat out at lots of restaurants and eat lots of candy and sleep in a bunk bed. While the bunk bed was cool, I didn't like not sleeping with Nina. But I did sleep in the car with her.
